FAQ

What is OpenClaw?

OpenClaw (formerly Clawdbot) is an open-source AI assistant that connects to your messaging apps. Think ChatGPT, but it messages you proactively and runs on your terms.

Do I need my own API key?

Yes — you bring your Claude, OpenAI, or OpenRouter API key. We provide the hosting, you control the AI provider and costs.

Is my data private?

Yes. Each customer gets an isolated FreeBSD jail. We don't access your conversations. Servers are in Hong Kong under PDPO regulations.

Can I migrate from self-hosted?

Absolutely. Export your workspace and we'll import it. Takes about 10 minutes.

Who runs this?

BSD Macao — a small FreeBSD group in Hong Kong. We've been running production FreeBSD infrastructure for years.
